Baetis Nymphs

Baetis are in the swimmer group of mayflies and are found in most types of moving water. Emergence times generally occur in the midday hours but the nymphs can be active early on, and these trout favorites are usually present from early Spring through late Fall. Overcast days can bring great dry fly action at times.

They are often found in shallow rocky runs and the trout will move out of the deeper areas to the shallows or the drop offs and grab them as they rise up in the water column to emerge.
